Outlook, Microsoft’s popular e-mail service is currently down and not working for thousands of users today.
Problems started at around 9AM this morning, with Independent website DownDetector, which tracks social comments around outages currently monitoring the situation, as well as numerous people unhappy with the outage.
The site registered a peak of 1503 Outlook users reporting all at once that they were experiencing issues with the service today, but many more have also complained of the service not working as it should.
Roughly 61 per cent of users have experienced issues with login while another 38 per cent has had problems with the Outlook website.
These problems are currently localised to users mainly in the UK and Europe, according to Down Detector.
Naturally, the downtime has lead to a lot of Outlook users taking to Twitter to report issues and complain about the e-mail service.
One user wrote: “Is anybody having problems with an outlook email account this morning? Have been unable to send or receive email…@Outlook”.
While another said: “Anyone else having issues with @Outlook / Hotmail? Emails not sending and just sitting in “draft” box, and not received a email all morning”.
And one added: “@Outlook I’m getting phone calls from people who say they sent me emails. I can’t see them. Work-related emails. This is not acceptable.”
The official Outlook Twitter account has not responded to thousands of unhappy users online.
On the other hand, the Verified Microsoft Support Twitter account, @MicrosoftHelps, is attempting to help users online, however, from the looks of comments, nothing is solving the issues facing users.
