The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are finally here.
Apple’s latest and greatest smartphones land in stores today with the device packed with new features and upgrades.
So, if you’re thinking of taking the plunge and switching to this new device here’s everything you need to know.
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus both have plenty of updates over their predecessors with the phones including a faster A11 Bionic processor and better Retina HD displays.
Apple has improved the cameras on both devices with them able to shoot sharper images in low light.
The iPhone 8 Plus also now has a feature called Portrait Lighting which allows you to change the way light appears on people’s faces – this even works after the photo is taken.
Although the design hasn’t changed that much from older iPhones, these new smartphones do include a glass rear case and new colours.
This not only improves the look of the iPhone but also allows it to be charged wirelessly.
To refill the battery without a cable you’ll need a wireless charging pad, which Apple does not supply in the box, with these costing around £30.
It’s worth knowing that the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus can be fast charged with the devices getting a 50 per cent boost in just 30 minutes.
WHERE CAN I BUY IT?
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are available directly from Apple and most mobile retailers.
All the major operators are selling these latest devices including EE, Three, O2, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile.
You can also buy directly through stores such ad Carphone Warehouse and mobiles.co.uk.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
If you want to buy the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 SIM-only, prices start from £699.
Apple has reduced the amount of colours now available with the device arriving in Gold, Silver and Space Grey.

SHOULD YOU UPGRADE?

They are faster, brighter and include a better camera and wireless charging.
If you own an iPhone 6 or 6s they are definitely worth a look as you will notice a huge difference in power and performance.
But owners of last year’s iPhone 7 might want to wait for Apple to release its all-new iPhone X before hitting the upgrade button.
